Trail & Ultra Coaching

Level up with Sweet D!

Why a coach?

It takes true mental grit (And a little bit of a crazy stubborn personality!) to tackle an ultramarathon, but you can only carry that with you so far without a proper race strategy and training to get you to the finish line.

Whether you're brand new to trail & ultra running or been in the scene for over a decade, everyone can benefit from having a coach. Some things a coach can help with include:

  • A personalized training plan for your body & your goals

  • Training smarter, not harder

  • Staying healthy & injury free

  • Addressing imbalances & proper form

  • Avoid burnout & overtraining

  • Break through plateaus

  • Race day strategies

  • Nutrition guidance

Whether you're training for your first ultra or chasing a podium finish... Why go alone when you can go further & faster with guidance?  It's time to level up!!

Why a coach?

What the heck is an ultramarathon?!

An ultramarathon is any race longer than, you guessed it, a marathon! Ultras start out as 50k's (31 miles) and go all the way up to 200 mile races and beyond. There are many different types of ultras from timed looped races, track races, point to point trail races, and last man standing races. They don't stop there, though, as you can go out and run an ultra in the woods any time of year that doesn't have to be a race. This can be self supported, unsupported, or fully supported if you can convince your friends to follow you around all day and night while you run. There are also FKT's (Fastest Known Time) speed records that you can chase after too.

Hopefully if you're here you already knew that, but if not, welcome!! Ultra running is a really wonderful community of nutty folks crazy enough to spend 24+ hours moving their bodies, all while stuffing down crazy combinations of food such as quesadillas, donuts, pickle juice, fireball and gas station burritos. Ultra running really is just an eating contest with some running mixed in between

My philosophy

Every runner has unique needs and different lifestyle demands. However, they all have one thing in common - BIG DREAMS AND GOALS!!  I am here to tailor specific plans for the every day trail and ultra runner.

As a coach, my mission is to meet each athlete where they are and build personalized, sustainable training plans that fit into real life, not the other way around. Whether you're chasing your first ultra, trying to hit the podium, or earn your first 100 mile belt buckle, I’m here to guide you with a blend of strategy, support, and belief.

No matter where you are from or what your background is, I want to help you tackle your goals and unlock your full potential. Why? Because not only do I believe in YOU as an athlete and a person, but I believe that anything is possible with the right mindset, planning, and of course the training!

My accomplishments

My accomplishments

In the last 5 years I have completed 34 official ultramarathon races and 14 self supported ultra adventures. I also hold the 1,110 mile Florida Trail Fastest Known Time (57 mile/day average for 19 days 13 hours) - I still can't decide if this counts as one ultra or 19 different ultras!

I recently completed the UESCA ultra running certification course to expand my personal knowledge and better coach athletes just like you!
